Venue & Accommodation
and how to get there!
Venue
We're celebrating our wedding (including the ceremony) at the Elfrather Mühle in Krefeld, just slightly north of our hometown Düsseldorf (Germany).
The address is:
Accommodation
Close to the venue is the Hotel Mercure Tagungs- & Landhotel Krefeld. We've reserved a number of rooms there for the night of May 3rd to May 4th 2025, with the option to cancel until the day of arrival (i.e., May 3rd), with breakfast included, at a rate of 109€ (single room) or 139€ (double room). Just mention the keyword "JessicaDanilo2025" when booking. For a more budget-friendly option, you can book rooms without breakfast and/or without the option to cancel on the hotel's website. In this case, we recommend making your reservation well in advance.
If you're planning on staying for a few days longer, it might be easier to stay in Düsseldorf instead of Krefeld. During the daytime you can reach the venue via public transportation (see below). If you need to get back to your hotel in Düsseldorf at night, taxi or an Uber would be your easiest option. Depending on where you're staying in Düsseldorf, it should be approximately a 30-minute ride from the venue.
In Düsseldorf, we can recommend the Motel One Düsseldorf-Hauptbahnhof, which is located close to the main station (Hauptbahnhof) and within walking distance to the city center.
Directions from Düsseldorf
By Car / Uber / Taxi
Simply use the address "An der Elfrather Mühle 145, Krefeld". "An der Elfrather Mühle 145" is the street name and house number, "Krefeld" is the town. There are plenty of parking spaces available free of charge, if you happen to come with your own car.
By Train
From Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof, you can take the train RE10 to Krefeld Hauptbahnhof (approximately 30 minutes). From there, take tram 042 to the final stop "Krefeld Elfrather Mühle" (also approximately 30 minutes).
For guests from abroad
Travel by plane
Nearby airports include Düsseldorf, Cologne-Bonn, Dortmund, and Weeze. All of these airports have good train connections to Düsseldorf.
From England, a flight to Cologne-Bonn Airport with Ryanair could be your cheapest option. From Cologne-Bonn Airport you need about 1 hour via train to get to Düsseldorf.
From Serbia, the cheapest option may be to fly to Dortmund Airport with Wizzair. A train from Dortmund Airport to Düsseldorf takes about 1.5 hours.
In both cases, flying directly to Düsseldorf might be the more comfortable option.
Travel by car
Driving from Belgrade to Düsseldorf takes about 17 hours and - depending on the route - can take you via the cities of Budapest, Vienna and Frankfurt or Zagreb, Ljubljana, Salzburg and Munich - all cities worth visiting, if you have some time to spare and are in for a road trip. Danilo has done this journey plenty of times and will happily give you some tips. Keep in mind that queues at borders can take some time. Also, May 1st is a bank holiday in Germany which can lead to increased traffic on the day before.
